High School/Middle School Library

The High School / Middle School Library and Writing Center is located in Furlong Hall and serves sixth through twelfth grade students. Hours of operation are from 7:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with Writing Center times by appointment. Instruction is provided by the librarian to assist students in the development of research skills, correct MLA formatting, documentation practices, and the use of online sources and databases. A variety of both print and electronic resources are available through the library services.

In the world of technology, students must have a variety of skills including the avoidance of plagiarism and the ability to analyze online/internet sources for accuracy and dependability. Links to online databases, the Alabama Virtual Library, citation guides, digital reading materials and the library online catalog may be found in onCampus under the Library’s Resource Page. Students are encouraged to use the library as both a resource for materials and as a place for study. The library also currently houses the ESL Learning Center for middle school and high school international students who are in need of services for their academic success.
