STJ’s Marching Trojans Named Super-Regional Class A Champs
The Saint James Marching Trojans Band was named the Bands of America Super-Regional Class A Champions after their performance in Atlanta’s Georgia Dome on Oct. 26. The very last band to compete, the Marching Trojans performed to an audience of nearly 10,000 -- lighting up the crowd on all three levels of the stadium.
As the smallest band in competition, the Trojans came alive when it was time to perform. The Saint James Band won Outstanding Music, Outstanding General Effect and tied with Archbishop Alter School from Ohio for Outstanding Visual.
The Trojans were crowned Class A Super Regional Champions, winning with their highest score ever in the annual Bands of America competition.
State and national championship bands from across the country (Tarpon Springs FL, Broken Arrow OK, Wando SC) made special efforts to meet the Saint James students after their show and compliment them on an outstanding performance.
The next competitive stop for the Marching Trojans Band is the Grand National Championship event in Indianapolis in November.
